As a piper for over 40 years in Scotland, Canada and the U.S., Jerry Gibson has heard many great sounding sets of pipes. The makers of the 'classical' bagpipes as Gibson calls them - Henderson, Robertson and MacDougall - have long since gone. Many of these sets are highly sought after by professional and amateur players for their excellent tone and volume. Through intensive research and development and musical understanding, Jerry Gibson has been able to duplicate and enhance the quality of sound produced by the pipes of generations ago. His thorough understanding of modern manufacturing techniques has allowed him to produce an outstanding musical instrument. Newly located in a larger facility, Jerry expects to continually increase production to meet the demand of his innovative products

In 1868, Peter Henderson founded the firm of Peter Henderson Ltd., 24 Renfrew St., Glasgow, whose pipes soon earned a reputation for quality and value. A piper of great ability, he set the standard for future bagpipe makers. Both Robert Hardie and John Weatherston had been making pipes for several years when in 1950, the opportunity for them to open their own shop arose. They each had been Pipe Majors of World Champion Pipe Bands. The quality of their instruments earned them The Royal Warrant in 1966. In 1972 Peter Henderson Ltd. and R.G. Hardie & Weatherston Ltd. were amalgamated, thus unifying the two famous companies. R.G. Hardie now occupies the original workshop of Peter Henderson on Renfrew St. Along with many individual pipers, R.G. Hardie & Co. is a supplier to Her Majesty's Government, The Ministry of Defense and exclusive supplier to the Royal Household.
